It was reported that the test location in the southwest of Germany Stuttgart Airport, which lasted 10 minutes, when the plane has two pilots and two passenger model.


The twin-cabin HY4 was jointly developed by aircraft manufacturer Pipistrel, fuel cell manufacturer Hydrogenics, Ulm University and the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

The aircraft used hydrogen to generate electricity in flight, with a cruising speed of 165 kilometers per hour and a range of 1,500 kilometers, with takeoff and landing dependent on lifePo4 batteries power.

In recent years, the aviation industry has tried to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Boeing and Airbus have also tested a smaller fuel cell aircraft.
