Nissan Motor and Japan Ecosystem Corp. jointly launched an event to install a free solar panel for the new Leaf owner who signed the Jibun Denryoku project. The purpose of this activity is to promote the use of new energy sources.
Participants are encouraged to charge their Leaf for the Leaf during the day with electricity harvested from the solar panels or to recharge the Leaf when the electricity demand is low in the evening. The event targets customers living in the Kanto region of Japan and will continue until the end of March 2018. Owners must sign the Japan Ecosystem's Jibun Denryoku plan to be eligible for the event, and these owners are required to continue the program for up to 20 years. Ownership of the solar system will be transferred free to the owner of the Leaf when the contract expires. Japan Ecosystem will bear the cost of installing and maintaining the system during the contract period.
