The project, developed and operated by Damane Assurances, will include 40kW solar photovoltaic systems, 415kVA diesel generators and 320kW energy storage systems.
By the end of 2016 when completed, it will become Mauritania's largest micro-grid energy storage projects.
TrinaBEST pointed out that the photovoltaic system is expected to produce about 84,096 kilowatt hours of solar power, annual savings of 56,000 US dollars. The system can support up to 20% of the total power requirements of a given plant even with limited space.
"More than half of Mauritania's population lives without access to electricity, mainly due to a lack of access to the grid," said Frank Qi, Managing Director of TrinaBEST. "Frequent voluntary power outages are necessary to protect scarce resources in the country, and we are proud to offer our solutions to help To solve the problem of power shortage in the region, the project can be 24 hours a day to produce reliable power to help solve the power grid problem.
